-LAYER command


The "-LAYER" command is used to manage layers and layer properties.

?-list layers:
Display the currently defined layers, including their layer names, states, colors, linetypes, lineweights and whether they are external dependencies.

Make:
Create a new layer and set it to be current. New objects will be created on this layer. If there does not exist a layer with inputted name, it will create a layer with the inputted name.This layer will be automatically turned on with the following properties: color: 7, linetype: CONTINUOUS and lineweight: DEFAULT. If the layer with inputted name has been turned off, it will be open automatically.

Set:
Set a new layer to be current. If this new layer does not exist, it will not be created. If this new layer exists and it is in off states, it will be open and set to be current. The frozen layer could not be set to be current.

New:
Create layers. Users could create two or more layers by inputting their names separating with comma.

Rename:
Rename the existing layer.

ON:
Set the selected layer to be visible. Users could plot it.

OFF:
Set the selected layer to be invisible. It is forbidden to print.

Color:
Change the color which associates with layer. Users could input a color code between 1 and 255.

True Color:
Specify a true color for selected object. Users could specify a true color code by three integer values between 0 and 255 separating with comma.

Color Book:
Specify a color for selected object from the loaded color book, guiding or set. Users could input the installed color book name, for example: DIC COLOR GUIDE(R)DIC 311.

The selected color will be applied on corresponding layer, and this layer will be turned on. If users want to specify a color to a layer and turn off it, they could add a "-" before this color name.

Ltype:
Change the line type associated with layer.

Lweight:
Change the lineweight associated with layer. If the input lineweight is valid, it will be the new value of current. If the input lineweight is invalid, the approximate lineweight will be selected to be current. Users could customize a lineweight by plot style table editor, in case the lineweight is not contained in the fixed lineweight list.

Material:
Apply a kind of materials to the layer. The selected material must be available before applying to a layer.

Plot:
Control Control whether plot visible layers. If the layer is available to plot, but currently it has been frozen or turned off, it could not be plotted.

Freeze:
Freeze the selected layer and set to be invisible. It is forbidden to regenerate and plot.

Thaw:
Thaw the selected layer and set it to be visible. It is permitted to regenerate and plot.

Lock:
Lock the selected layer to avoiding editing objects on it.

Unlock:
Unlock the selected layer. Users are permitted to edit objects on this layer.

state:
Save and restore the layer states and properties settings.

?-list named layer states
List the named layer state (LAS) files in support path.
Save
Save the layer states and property settings for specified layer state in the drawing. When saving the layer states, the affected layer settings should be specified when restoring its layer states later.
Restore
Restore all layer states and property settings to be previously saved ones. Only restore selected layer states and property settings.
Edit
Change the saved layer settings for selected layer state. The specified settings will be used when restoring the layer state.
Name
Change the name of saved layer state.
Delete
Delete the saved layer state.
Import
Import the previously exported layer states (LAS) files or (DWG, DWS, DWT) files to current drawing. The import layer state file may lead to create other layers.
Export
Export the selected named layer state to a layer state (LAS) file.

Description
Set the description of current layer.
It will display warning when adding description to a layer with description.
Reconcile
Set the unreconciled property for an unreconciled layer.

?- name list of layers
Display the list of unreconciled layers.
