FILTER command


The FILTER command is used to create a list, objects in it must meet to certain conditions.

Command Access:

Command: FILTER (or 'filter for transparent use)

Dialog Box Description:

The Object Selection Filter Dialog Box is displayed.

Filter Property List:
Display a list of the filter properties of the current filter. The current filter is the filter selected in Current in the Named Filters area.

Select Filter:
Add filter properties to the current filter.

Object Types and Logical Operators:
List object types that you can filter and logical operators (AND, OR, XOR, and NOT) for grouping the filter expressions.

You have to pair and balance the logical operators correctly in the filter list. The number of operands you can enclose depends on the operation.

Logical Operators

  Begin AND                         One or more operands                          End AND
  Begin OR                            One or more operands                          End OR
  Begin XOR                          Two operands                                        End XOR
  Begin NOT                         One operand                                           End NOT

X,Y,Z:
Define additional filter parameters depending on the object. Relative operators such as < (less than) or > (greater than) can be used in the filter parameters.

Select:
Display a Dialog Box listing all items of the specified type in the drawing. Select the items from the list to filter.

Add to List:
Add the current Select Filter property to the filter list. Filter properties added to the unnamed filter remain available during the current work session unless they are deleted manually.

Substitute:
Use the property displayed in Select Filter to replace the one selected in the filter property list.

Add Selected Object:
Add one selected object in the drawing to the filter list.

Edit Item:
Select a filter property and move it into the Select Filter area to edit. The selected filter property will be replaced by the new edited filter.

Delete:
Delete a selected filter property from the current filter.

Clear List:
Delete all the filter properties from the current filter.

Named Filters:
Display, save, and delete filters.

Apply:
Exit the Dialog Box. You can create a selection set follow the Select Objects prompts. And the current filter is used on the selected objects.
